Mogens Lykketoft to talk at Conceptualizing Sustainable Futures Day

Denmark is a world leader in the move towards a more sustainable future, and strongly espouses the UN’s Millennium Development Goals. The next stage in the development towards sustainability will be very challenging, as we seek to further drastically reduce our environmental impacts and our dependence on non-renewable resources.

The Conceptualising Sustainable Futures Day at DTU will explore the contribution that design can make in this regard: in the first half of the day, national and international experts will present the challenges that we face in our water, food, manufacturing and energy systems. In the second half of the day, design strategies and approaches to address the systems issues will be presented, and attendees will participate in a workshop in which the power of design thinking as a conceptualisation tool is explored.
