Prestigious grant for DTU researchers

Eight talented DTU researchers have received the Sapere Aude: DFF-Starting Grant from the Independent Research Fund Denmark.

A total of 39 researchers have received Sapere Aude grants, which are awarded to young researchers who have performed top research in their field. With the grant, the research talents can develop and strengthen their research ideas and competencies as research leaders.

The eight grant recipients from DTU

Senior researcher Dennis Valbjørn Christensen, DTU Energy, receives the grant for the project ”A solid look at the green transition”.
Postdoc Dongshuai Li, DTU Space, receives the grant for the project ”Studying Lightning Processes with Neuromorphic Imaging on Microsecond Time Scales”.
Associate Professor Emmanouil Vasilomanolakis, DTU Compute, receives the grant for the project ”Loki: Situational aware collaborative bio-inspired cyber-deception”.
Research Fellow at the European Southern Observatory (ESO) Francesco Maria Valentino, DTU Space, receives the grant for the project ”Illuminating the path to form massive galaxies in the early Universe”.
Researcher Frank Nießen, DTU Construct, receives the grant for the project ”Generative AI in crystal orientation space”.
Assistant Professor Georgios Arvanitidis, DTU Compute, receives the grant for the project ”GADL: Geometric Analysis of Deep Learning”.
Associate Professor Julia Kirch Kirkegaard, DTU Wind, receives the grant for the project ”The Expertise of Expectations, and the case of Power-to-X”.
Associate Professor Line Hagner Nielsen, DTU Health Tech, receives the grant for the project ”Targeting nasal biofilms with in situ hydrogels”.

Sapere Aude: DFF-Starting Grant

Sapere Aude means ”Dare to Know” and is given to talented, younger researchers ready to lead a research project at a high international level.
The grant allows the researchers to develop and strengthen their research ideas and start their own research groups. It will also promote mobility internationally and nationally between research environments.
The researcher can apply for a grant of a maximum of DKK 6.2 million (incl. 44% overhead) for a project of up to 4 years duration.
