The best paper/presentation award was granted to Johan Toftekær for the development and experimental verification of a new tuning method for resonant piezoelectric absorbers. The method is based on simple measurements of the absorber’s electric current and voltage response. It specifically accounts for the influence from non-resonant vibration modes, whereby the tuning of the piezoelectric shunt (electric circuit) becomes sufficiently precise for it to be realized by passive electronic components. Single- and multi-mode vibration suppression of a plate was finally demonstrated.
