Structural Lab

The Structural lab performs static and dynamic mechanical testing of structures and materials on component and sub-structural scale of up to 15x6 m.

The Structural Lab possesses:

  • 50 standard machines with capacities from 3 kN to 10 MN
  • 3 clamping planes and a clamping wall for building specialized setups with structural actuators with a capacity from 25 kN to 5 MN
  • State-of-the-art measuring equipment from traditional methods such as strain gauges and displacement metres to advanced optic methods such as Digital Image Correlation, Distributed Fiber Optical Sensing, Acustic Emssion and advanced data loggers including high speed measurements
