Digital Building Lab
The Construction Information and Technology Laboratory (CITL) offers lean, green and safe construction processes by empowering human decision makers in Prevention through Design and Planning, digital construction modeling and compliance checking, real-time proactive control, and continuous professional learning.

The state-of-the-art lab is equipped with:

Autonomous mobile robot platforms and drones with a robot arm for picking, moving, and placing 3D printed building elements

Active multi-modal multi-player personalized learning environment for sustainable construction projects incl. extended reality equipment (AR/VR)
- Various laser, vision, and 3D range scanning technology for as-built modeling and progress monitoring
- Real-time Location and Sensing (RTLS) for construction site resource tracking and optimization (schedule and productivity)
- Real-time wearable sensors and actuators for proactively protecting workforce in harsh work environments
- Construction equipment emission measurement sensing and monitoring systems (e.g., carbon dioxide, air, noise, fuel consumption)
- Information backbone and Digital Twin cloud infrastructure incl. simulation and 3D modeling software
